      DESCRIPTION: Readings, individual research projects, and group translation activities. How the translation profession works. Developing the ability to translate general financial and legal texts. Learning to read texts critically.

      PREREQUISITE: Senior standing or departmental advisor's consent.
      DESCRIPTION: A culminating experience for Portuguese as a first or second major. Students will be able to articulate the value of the Portuguese BA and will develop strategies and a rationale for applying the skills acquired during their undergraduate studies.
      NOTE: Course must be taken concurrently with an approved upper-division, senior-level (e.g. 400-level) course in the semester prior to graduation.

      Note: The Senior Proficiency Evaluation is taken in connection with Port 491. It is expected that Portuguese majors will pass with an ACTFL rating of advanced-low or higher.
