Minor in Latin Teaching
This minor is designed to prepare students to teach in public schools. A teaching minor may only be received by students graduating with a teaching major. In order to graduate with this minor, students are required to complete Utah State Office of Education licensing requirements. Complete the following:
Complete six hours from the following:
- Grades below C- in professional education courses or content courses will not be accepted in the teaching major or teaching minor. Teacher candidates must have a cumulative 2.85 GPA in teaching major and teaching minor courses to qualify for student teaching.
- Complete one of the following options:
LATIN 411R : Latin Vulgate and Early Christian Latin Texts. (3:3:0)(Credit Hours:Lecture Hours:Lab Hours)

|DESCRIPTION: ||Topics include Latin Vulgate and selections from other early Christian Latin texts.|
LATIN 441 : Medieval Latin. (3:3:0)(Credit Hours:Lecture Hours:Lab Hours)
|PREREQUISITE: ||LATIN 301 & LATIN 302|
|DESCRIPTION: ||Study of particular periods (e.g., Carolingian renaissance, twelfth-century renaissance) or genres (e.g., historiography, epic, autobiography), or survey of medieval Latin.|
Note 1: One course from Cl Cv 246, 307, 340R, 362, or Clscs 430R may be substituted.
Note 2: Latin 411R may be taken only once.
*Hours include courses that may fulfill university core requirements.
